Cash Flow Simulator — 12-Month Visual Forecast for Your Business

Cash flow kills more businesses than lack of profit. A company can be profitable on paper and still run out of cash if the timing of payments does not align with the timing of receipts. This simulator lets you model your cash position month by month over a full year — showing you exactly when you will be flush and when you might be short, so you can plan ahead instead of reacting to crises.

How to use: Set your default monthly income and expenses, then adjust individual months for seasonal variation. Add one-off items like tax payments, equipment purchases or VAT bills. The chart updates in real time to show your projected closing balance each month.

Understanding your forecast

The chart shows your projected bank balance at the end of each month. Green bars mean positive cash. Red bars mean your balance would go negative — that is the danger zone. Months highlighted in red are where you need to take action: chasing invoices earlier, delaying a purchase, arranging a credit facility, or adjusting your payment terms with suppliers. Spotting a cash shortfall three months in advance gives you options. Discovering it the week it happens gives you none.

This simulator gives you a simplified model. For a forecast connected to your actual accounting data — updated automatically every night — our full cash flow forecasting service provides 13-week and 3-year visibility with scenario planning built in.
