When an accountant pays for itself
An accountant typically saves more than they cost once your business reaches a certain level of complexity — usually when you are VAT registered, have employees, operate as a limited company, or your turnover exceeds £80,000–£100,000. Below that threshold, accounting software alone may be sufficient. Above it, the tax savings, error prevention and time reclaimed usually outweigh the fees significantly.
